What’s for dinner?

INGREDIENTS IN THIS DISH:

MEAT SAUCE

500g of Lean Beef Mince (Ground Beef)

1 Medium Brown Onion (Diced)

2 Cloves of Crushed Garlic

Olive Oil

1 Can of Diced Tomatoes

1 Jar of Plain Spaghetti / Pasta Sauce

2 Tablespoons of Worcestershire Sauce

Dried Mixed Italian Herbs

1 Litre (4 Cups) of Vegetable Stock (use Beef Stock if you prefer)


BECHAMEL CHEESE SAUCE

50g of Butter

1/2 Cup of Wheat Flour

1 Litre of Milk

2 Cups of Tasty Cheese (Grated)

1 Egg (Beaten)

Plus, enough dry lasagna pasta sheets to fill your baking dish (I used 2 packets) Preparation Time: 25 minutes Cooking Time: 50 minutes @ 200 degrees Celsius



INSTRUCTIONS

MEAT SAUCE

Put your 1 medium diced onion in a pot.

To it, add s teaspoons of crushed garlic.

Add some olive oil and heat the onions until they are slightly soft.

When the onions are soft, add your half a kilogram of ground lean beef mince to your cooking pot and break it up while stirring. Continue mixing it until it is nicely brown.

Add 1 can of diced tomatoes to it which will boost the flavor.

Also, add 1 jar of plain spaghetti or pasta sauce and mix it up.

Add 2 tablespoon of mixed Italian herbs and Worcestershire sauce to your beef mixture.

Add your 1 liter of vegetable stock or beef stock depending on what you prefer and leave it to simmer for 15 minutes on low heat.


BECHAMEL CHEESE SAUCE

Melt your butter in a saucepan.

To it, add your flour and mix it until it is all combined.

Stir this over medium heat and allow it to cook for two minutes while stirring.

Add your milk little at a time while mixing it with the flour-butter mixture until it has all dissolved.

Leave it on medium heat and stir slowly for about 8 minutes or until it is nice and thick.

Take the mixture off the heat and quickly add in one beaten egg. Stir it quickly before it turns to scrambled eggs.

Add your grated cheese and mix until it is all melted.

In a rectangular glass bowl, put some little lasagna (beef sauce) at the bottom.

Then add some dried lasagna sheet(pasta.)

We are gonna add the sauce and pasta until we are done. Make sure your final layer is the sauce.

When done with the final layer, add your béchamel cheese sauce to the top.

Add a touch of grated cheese to the top.

At the bottom of your glass bowl, put a baking tray and place it in the oven at a temperature of 200 degrees Celsius for 50 minutes.

Serves eight people with any salad of your choice.
